About the beach

If you desire a break from the picturesque seaside walk along the Boulevard de la Croisette and are tired of admiring the extravagant boats and yachts moored at the water’s edge of Port Pierre Canto, you could always pop into one of the many fashion boutiques and designer shops that line the boulevard.
Being one of the most prominent art and culture centres in Europe, the Palais des Festivals which hosts the annual Cannes film festival, is a must see with its theatre, dance, music and circus performances all year round. During the day, why not take a ride on Le Petit Train (The Little Train) up to Le Suquet , the historical centre of the city. Taking a short boat ride from the mainland to the Lerins Islands is a fantastic way to spend one of your days holidaying in the French Riviera. The largest island, Sainte Marguerite, not only offers an insight into history with its Musée de la Mer (Sea museum) where you can view relics form ancient Roman and Saracen shipwrecks, but also the chance to enjoy the Mediterranean sea through water sports such as water skiing and parascending . What is more, the flora and fauna that can be spotted on one of the breath-taking walks around the island is not to be missed.

By car: Take the Cannes exit from A8 motorway and follow the signs for Cannes Centre and Palais des Festivals.
By bus: Cannes is served by numerous buses from most local towns.
By train: The main train station in Cannes is very central and has frequent connections with Nice, Monaco, Grasses and St. Raphael. Plage Royale situated on La Croisette is a mere 15 minute stroll away from the train station
