La Spiaggia is a private beach situated in Cagnes sur mer. This private beach has a welcoming and warm atmosphere which offers many diverse Mediterranean dishes. This beach bodes a lot of privacy as it is surrounded in greenery, therefore, you will be out of sight of any seafront walkers. The village of Haut de Cagnes is positioned between the mountains and the beaches of Cagnes sur Mer. Haut de Cagnes is a Medieval settlement which attracts many historians. The historical château is steeped in history (built in 1310 by a descendant of the current Monaco Grimaldi family) It sits at the heart of the narrow cobbled streets, which have many charming restaurants and shops. Inside the Château, the Grimaldi Museum can be found which boasts a collection of paintings by world-renowned artists. Haut de Cagnes is also home to Chapelle Notre Dame de la Protection, where frescoes which date back to 1530 and were discovered as recently as 1936. A free shuttle bus runs from the main bus stop in Cagnes sur Mer to Haut de Cagnes which takes approximately five minutes.

Renoir, the famous artist spent the last 12 years of his life in the Collettes area of Cagnes sur Mer. He gained inspiration for his work from the picturesque views over the Côte d’Azur beaches and the surrounding Riviera countryside. His paintings of the backdrops are among the most famous Impressionist paintings of the time. In the museum constructed in his honour in Haut de Cagnes, Renoir’s canvases and sculptures are proudly displayed.

Cagnes sur Mer is home to the ‘Hippodrome de la Côte d’Azur’, where regular nightly horse racing takes place. Punters can place a few bets, enjoy the restaurant, bars, children's activities and firework displays which take place from time to time, making the Hippodrome a popular local evening activity for all the family which brings together both tourists and the local community.

One of the other great opportunities available in Cagnes sur mer  is to rent a boat for a day and tour the beautiful coastline.
 

By car: Follow the Route Bord de Mer (D6098) from Antibes or Nice to Cagnes sur Mer. Alternatively you can reach the town via the A8 motorway.
 

By bus: Number 200 from Nice to Cannes, number 500 from Nice to Grasse and number 400 from Nice to Vence all stop in Cagnes sur Mer. Number 94 from Nice also goes directly to Cagnes sur Mer bus station, from there it is easy to get to La Spiaggia private beach.

By train: Trains from Nice and Antibes stop in Cagnes sur Mer

The restaurant at La Spiaggia private beach, situated in Cagnes sur Mer offers a fresh and flavoursome menu. On the menu you have the choice of grilled fish, fresh pasta, pizza, tapas and meat dishes. The main courses cost between €15-23 with tapas costing around €4.50.
