Welcome to NICE BEACH OPERA PLAGE PRIVATE BEACH RESTAURANT

OPERA PLAGE, Private beach, Nice, French Riviera

About the beach:
Opera Plage is one of the oldest beaches in France, having been passed from generation to generation of the Maiffret family since 1888. The beach still retains its family-run feel, and manages to blend tradition seamlessly with modern amenities. It is a popular destination in the Riviera, and benefits from easy access to Nice’s key attractions and its charming old town. The beach is one of the cheapest along this stretch of the Promenade des Anglais, but this does not mean that its quality is anything less than superior. The friendly staff are extremely helpful, and speak many languages. They are on hand to serve drinks, deliver newspapers or provide a massage if desired. The beach can be fully privatised to host parties, events or conferences, and it is ideally equipped with a large interior covered area of 1200m², as well as an indoor restaurant which seats 250 people. The outdoor terrace restaurant on the waterfront has room for a further 250 people to dine, and also offers comfortable sofas and armchairs to relax on. From time to time, visitors can enjoy the beach’s themed parties, live bands and DJs. The restaurant serves good food and is accompanied by an excellent wine list.

Attractions nearby:

Nice is a diverse and colourful town on the French Riviera. There really is something to suit all tastes, and it is a very enjoyable place to explore. Visitors should take a wander into Vieux Nice, the old part of the town. There are vibrant markets, including the famous Cours Saleya flower market, as well as old churches such as the stunning 18th century Chapelle de la Miséricorde. Meandering through the narrow winding streets, with their quirky bistros and boutiques, is a great way to lose oneself for an afternoon, before stepping into one of the outdoor cafés for a drink. In the evenings, the Old Town becomes the hub of Nice’s animated nightlife, with live music emanating from the concentration of bars around the Cours Saleya.

The Parc du Chateau, which towers above the town, provides stunning views back to the Nice beaches and the whole of the Baie des Anges. There is an old tower at the top of the hill, as well as an attractive artificial waterfall, which appears to cascade down towards the town below. After sunset, the sight of the park illuminated against the night time sky, is a visual treat.

For visitors interested in museums, Nice offers some of the best on the Côte d’Azur. The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Marc Chagall museum and the Massena museum are all worth a visit. There are also some lovely architectural highlights, such as the Palais Lascaris on Rue Droite, the Russian Orthodox Cathedral and Place Massena.

The coastal walk around the Cap de Nice offers beautiful scenery and access to some attractive secluded coves. It is possible to walk all the way around the Cap to Villefranche sur Mer. Another way to keep fit in Nice is to join the many roller-bladers that take to the Promenade des Anglais to show off their impressive displays of tricks.

One of the other great opportunities available in Nice is to rent a boat for a day and tour the beautiful coastline.
