About the beach
Lagon plage is a chilled out private beach bar in the popular Riviera seaside resort of Golfe Juan. Boasting magnificent views of the Cap d’Antibes, this relaxed waterside venue, with its calming turquoise and brown décor is a very pleasant place to unwind on this beautiful stretch of the Côte d’Azur. The excellent restaurant, serving a range of international fusion-style food, has an intimate atmosphere despite its 200 person capacity. For those wishing to escape the showy air of some of the Cannes beaches, Lagon private beach offers a welcome alternative. There are two car parks opposite the beach, and it is suitable for handicapped visitors.

The town of Vallauris is renowned for its connections to handicrafts. In the town, there is a multitude of studios, where talented artisans display their pottery, ceramics, arts and crafts. There is also a museum dedicated to the history and development of ceramics.
Nearby Cannes is the glitz and glamour capital of the French Riviera. For years, wealthy, beautiful people have been flocking here in their masses, bringing their impressive yachts and bulging wallets with them. As a result, Cannes now has a selection of some of the finest fashion boutiques, and no visit here would be complete without a browse through the designer stores that line ‘La Croisette’. A walk around the water’s edge of the old port and Port Pierre Canto will bestow to the visitor a remarkable selection of ostentatious boats that have to be seen to be believed. Cannes is easily accessed from the beaches at Golfe Juan by train, bus or car.
A trip to the Lérins islands, just off the Cannes coastline, is a must-do for visitors to the Golfe Juan area. The closest, Ile St Marguerite, is a mere 15 minute boat ride from the mainland, and boasts some fantastic walking tracks where rare plants and migratory birds can be spotted. The island owns the legendary story of the Man in the Iron Mask, who was imprisoned in the old fort for 11 years. The Ile Saint Honorat is a short hop over from St Marguerite, and is home to a monastery and a series of little chapels, steeped in years of history. Ferries to the islands depart once an hour from Cannes during the summer.
One of the other great opportunities available in Golfe Juan to is to rent a boat for a day and tour the beautiful coastline.
How to get there
By car: Exit the A8 motorway at Antibes. Then take the Bord de Mer road in the direction of Cannes, which passes through Golfe Juan.
By bus: Number 200 from Nice to Cannes stops by the beaches of Golfe Juan.
By train: The station at Golfe Juan is easily reached from both the Nice and Cannes directions, and is a short walk to Lagon private beach.

The restaurant at Lagon beach serves up an exciting and enticing range of international dishes. The specialities include the fresh langoustine pasta, and the selection of handmade Corsican cheeses. It is possible to privatise the whole restaurant for events. During the summer, 200 people can be seated outside, and 300 can have cocktails. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
