About the beach
Le Napoleon private beach is situated in the pretty bay of Garavan in Menton. Menton is one of the warmest towns in the Côte d’Azur, with an average of 316 days of glorious Riviera sunshine every year. The beach has its own wonderful ice cream parlour, where you pay by weight for what you have had. There is a bar and restaurant, which is open all year round for lunch and dinner, and is the perfect spot to enjoy the views of the Mediterranean, the Italian border and the old town of Menton.

Menton has a very distinct atmosphere on the French Riviera due to its location as the last town in France before the Italian border. The Italian influence is prominent in many areas in the town, from food, to architecture, to culture.
Due to its warm Mediterranean climate and saturation of year-round sunshine, Menton is renowned for its beautiful collections of flowers and plants. Some of the best gardens on the Côte d’Azur are found here, such as the stunning ‘Jardin du Val Rameh’, and ‘La Serre de la Madone’.
The town has some interesting historical sites to visit, with fine examples of Baroque and Italian architecture on display. The ‘Basilique Saint Michel’, with its incredible exterior and Italian style bell tower, is full of magnificent artwork, and has a wonderful decorated ceiling. Saint Michael’s square has a mosaic on the ground that represents the family weapon of the Grimaldi family of Monaco. There are some interesting museums to visit, including the Beaux Art Museum, the Jean Cocteau museum, and the contemporary art gallery.
Menton has some excellent shopping opportunities, and a walk down the main pedestrian area will reveal some wonderful boutiques and cafés. The town is home to some good markets, and nearby Vintimiglia, over the border in Italy, hosts a magnificent Friday market, selling just about everything at rock bottom prices.
Nearby to Menton, there are some charming French historical villages which are worth a visit, including Sainte Agnes, Castillon and Gorbio.
One of the other great opportunities available in Menton is to rent a boat for a day and tour the beautiful coastline.

By car: Take the Menton exit from the A8 motorway and head for the centre of town. The beach is situated on Garavan bay.
By bus: Menton is linked by bus with Monaco, Nice and Nice airport.
By train: There is a train station at Menton, which is easily reached from Monaco, Nice, Antibes and Cannes.

The beach restaurant of Le Napoleon private beach is furnished with clean lines of black, white and apple green, with comfortable teak furniture. It is open all year round for lunch and dinner, and in the winter has a covered, heated area for diners to sit in. The menu features regional cuisines, with plenty of grilled fish and meats. Every Wednesday in the summer, there is a themed night at the beach restaurant.
