The Private Beaches in Cannes to be replaced by new removable beaches - Monday 4 June 2012

Certain private beaches on the Boulevard in Cannes will be knocked down in order to build new ones. The Golden Sands Beach Sports, Waikiki, Blue Beach, Beautiful beach, Maema, Riviera Beach, South Beach and Okey Beach on the South Boulevard will be reconstructed. The work will commence in February 2013 where the current beaches previously were.  The new structures will be made with metal frames and wood but will not be cemented to the ground.

This will be a hefty investment but good news for beachgoers. Especially as the private beaches in Cannes were all renovated in 2006. However, the changes are necessary and Cannes city council are hoping they will be a sound investment in order to attract more visitors to these beautiful beaches situated on the French Riviera.
