Nice Beach Security Increase - Monday 9 July 2012

The city of Nice has decided to allocate extra money to up the security on the beaches of Nice in order to increase the safety of both tourists and residents.
11 different life guard stations will be dotted along the Niçois bay. Between two and three qualified life guards will be at each station watching over the swimmers and sunbathers from 9am until 6.30pm at night.
Costing an estimated 400,000 euros, it is hoped that the extra surveillance on the beaches in Nice will reduce the time is takes emergency services to reach those in need while reassuring residents and tourists alike.
